Paint Finish – What to Expect

Built for NZ Conditions
Paint is the strongest protection you can give outdoor timber in New Zealand. Our UV levels are harsh, and paint outperforms every other finish for long‑term durability. Colour is important, but protection always comes first.

A Balanced, High‑Quality Process
Our painting service is designed to give you the best value — not the cheapest, not the most expensive. The goal is simple: maximum protection, clean presentation, long‑lasting performance.

Our 3‑Coat System

  • Two undercoats with extra attention to outward‑facing surfaces
  • One top coat in Dulux Weathershield (Maxiflex Technology)
  • Vivid White recommended for best coverage over white undercoats

Dulux Weathershield is tough, UV‑resistant, and designed not to peel, flake, or blister. It resists mould, dirt, and stains — essential in NZ’s climate.

Your Role in Durability
Just like house paint, outdoor furniture paint lasts longest when it’s cared for. Exposure, use, and environment all affect longevity. A well‑maintained piece will always outlast one left to weather hard.

Timber Matters
Paint is not a filler. Natural timber features — grain, knots, texture — will always show through to some degree.
Your timber choice affects the final look and performance of the paint. See our Timber Choices page for more detail.

The Result
A clean, protective, long‑lasting finish that gives your furniture the best defence against NZ’s climate.
