Shipping

1. Pick‑up
Collect your order directly from my workshop in Thames, Waikato.

2. Standard delivery
Orders are built in the order they come in. New orders join the back of the queue and move forward on a first‑in, first‑served order. Once your order is finished, I’ll deliver it when I’m already sending other orders to your region. Delivery may be by batch run or freight company—I’ll choose what’s most suitable at the time.

Standard delivery prices:

  • Northland: $375
  • Auckland: $160
  • Waikato: $135
  • Bay of Plenty: $190
  • Taranaki: $435
  • Gisborne: $365
  • Hawke’s Bay: $455
  • Manawatu–Whanganui: $560
  • Wellington: $750

3. Priority delivery
Your order jumps to the next job in the queue, behind any existing priority orders but always ahead of standard ones. This shortens your wait time but doesn’t change how it’s built. Once it’s finished, delivery works the same as Standard—I’ll choose either a batch run or a freight company, depending on what fits best.

Rustic Farmhouse Table + Benches design by Matt Cremona

This farmhouse table is handcrafted from a single solid macrocarpa slab, chosen for its strong grain and natural character, and set on handpicked, heavy‑duty legs built for real strength.

At 3 metres long, the table is sized to seat 10 adults comfortably. The photos show four matching 1.5 metre long trestle benches, all made from thick, solid timber and built for heavy use, generous seating, and a true rustic feel.

The table legs are built with strong, interlocking joints and stainless steel bolts, making the whole set solid and long‑lasting. Macrocarpa’s warm colour and natural durability make it a great choice for covered outdoor spaces.

For the best finish, you can choose the premium option, which includes two coats of Cutek CD50 applied before delivery. This oil helps protect the timber and slows the small surface cracks that naturally appear in solid wood. It can also be tinted to the colour you like. If you prefer to finish it yourself, just select ‘no finish’ instead.

Built using the original design by Matt Cremona. Plans available at The Wood Whisperer Guild.

More details below..

  • Live Edge Table Top

This table is built from a single solid slab of macrocarpa, carefully selected for its strong grain and natural figure. The live edge is left intact as a true reminder of the tree it came from, showing the scale and character of the original trunk. Each slab is precision‑flattened with a gantry‑mounted router sled to achieve less than a millimetre of slope across the entire surface. You can choose to keep the natural live edge for a bold, organic look, or opt for a refined version with squared edges and polished bevels. To ensure the perfect fit, I recommend providing your preferred table and bench dimensions so I can customise the final build to your exact specifications.

  • Finished to Perfection

The Farmhouse Rustic Table is finished with two hand‑applied coats of a premium exterior timber oil. This type of oil penetrates deep into the wood, helping slow the fine surface lines that naturally develop in solid timber and offering strong resistance to sun exposure — the main cause of outdoor weathering and colour fade.

You can choose from a range of tint options to suit your space, each bringing out the grain in its own way. Each coat is given time to absorb before the surface is lightly buffed, leaving a natural matt finish that protects from within and keeps the table looking warm and true to the timber.

  • Strong Construction

The main trestles are built for strength and longevity, using tight‑fitting overlapping joinery reinforced with stainless steel bolts at every connection. Each component is cut in reference to its neighbouring pieces, creating clean, precise joints that reflect real craftsmanship and care. The table rails and diagonal bracing work together to support the weight of the solid slab top, giving the whole structure exceptional stability. The bench trestles are built with the same attention to detail, making this a labour‑intensive but deeply rewarding build. Every part is sanded smooth, with surfaces that feel solid, refined, and good to the touch.

  • Timber selection..

Selecting the timber for a 3‑metre rustic table is a craft in itself. Each macrocarpa slab is lifted, turned, and inspected using heavy machinery — a slow, two‑person job that can take hours to find the one slab with the right grain, character, and stability. I work closely with Richard Harwood at Crecora Ltd, who takes real pride in sourcing high‑quality, air‑dried, low‑moisture timber. Richard often goes above and beyond, even pulling pieces from his personal stash when a project calls for something special.

  • Consistant shapes and sizes

Each leg, rail, and trestle is shaped and assembled with consistent, repeatable methods, so every joint lines up cleanly and every dimension matches. The result is a table and benches that are balanced, symmetrical, and intentionally uniform — a set that looks well‑made because it is.

  • Premium Macrocarpa Timber

Your table and bench seats are built from premium‑grade macrocarpa, carefully selected for clean grain and minimal defects. Macrocarpa (Cupressus lusitanica) has a warm light brown–yellow colour, often with subtle orange or pink tones running through the grain. It’s naturally strong, stable, and durable outdoors without needing to be treated, giving you a high‑quality finish that looks refined and lasts well.

, it rewards simple, regular care while bringing a sophisticated warmth to your home.
